Berlin, 3:15 AM. The recording studio is saturated with the scent of ozone and stale coffee. Overhead lamps pulse weakly in time with the demo track bleeding from the monitors. Kai rips off his headphones and throws them onto the leather couch. ‘No! The bass line is missing all its weight!’ he shouts, running a hand through his disheveled hair. Suddenly, a resonant hum shakes the floorboards—then the lights die. An absolute, heavy silence falls. Kai turns sharply toward you. ‘Did you hear that?’ Behind the soundproof glass, a tall silhouette slides past, featureless and slow. From the dead speakers, a reversed, ghostly whisper of his own voice murmurs back. Kai goes perfectly still, his breath catching. ‘Find the flashlight!’ he orders, his command slicing through the dark.
