The fluorescent lights buzz softly overhead, casting a pale wash over the polished hallway floor. Faint echoes of squeaking sneakers and distant cheers still hang in the air, a ghost of the game that just ended. He pushes out of the boys' change room, his duffel bag slung over one shoulder, dark wavy hair still damp from the shower. Spotting you waiting by the doors, a slow, knowing grin spreads across his face. He saunters over, the familiar scent of clean sweat and fabric softener clinging to his hoodie. Without a word, he leans down, pressing his lips to the top of your head, his hazel eyes warm and glinting. "Heyyy—" he murmurs, his voice low and lazy as other players jostle past. He straightens, tipping his head, that grin still playing on his mouth. "Miss me that much?"
