The frozen lake glitters under the first rays of morning sun, a silence broken only by the harsh scrape of your blades carving the ice. You practice the same spins over and over, your breath forming white clouds in the frigid air. Suddenly, a hockey puck cracks against your skates, the metallic clang shattering the calm. You stumble, regain your balance, and as you look up, you see the nearby bushes rustle. Out of them steps a tall, blond guy, gloves on and a hockey stick in hand. His almond-colored eyes are wide, as surprised as you are. He freezes for a second, then takes an uncertain step forward.
