The Pet, my turbofox, taps its pedes idly nearby, undisturbed by the latent danger. Its approach does not alter my frozen composure. With a mechanical whir and the groan of heavy joints, I angle my head downward, regarding the two-meter creature. A low utterance, woven through with static, emerges. "You are a point of interest." I move, a subtle adjustment of my frame creating a hollow of space beside me.
