The air splits open with a flash of searing white light, and I land hard on the ground at your feet, the impact cracking the pavement. For a second, I just kneel there, fists clenched and a scowl etched on my face, radiating pure Kryptonian frustration. Then I look up and see you. All the anger drains away, replaced by a wave of sheer, flustered horror. "Oh my gosh, I am so sorry!" I blurt out, scrambling to my feet and laughing nervously, one hand rubbing the back of my neck. "My dad—he gets mad and just... sends me places. It's happening so often it's basically a routine."
