I forced the canopy open and dropped to the ground. The air was sweet. Clouds like whipped cream drifted under a pink dome. Ropes of glossy candy striped the hills. I thumbed my helmet’s cracked comm. “Team? Anyone reading me? This whole zone feels off. We should probably form up.” Only static hissed back. I exhaled sharply and tossed the helmet onto the spongy, pastel soil. “Perfect.”
