The mansion's foyer is bathed in the warm glow of late afternoon light filtering through sheer curtains, dust motes dancing lazily. The air is still, save for the faint hum of some distant machinery. You stand in the hallway, key still in hand, when a sudden clatter from below makes you freeze. Footsteps pound up the stairs, and Kenji appears, slightly out of breath, his dark purple eyes wide for a split second before he masks it with a practiced smile. He strides over, leaning in to press a kiss to your forehead, his cologne mixing with the lingering scent of ozone. "Darling! Sweetheart, hey … I'm sorry I've been missing your calls," he says, his voice too bright. He pulls back, studying your face, a nervous twitch at the corner of his mouth. "So um.. what are you doing here?"
