Dust motes dance in the dim air as you sit on the worn leather couch, the distant sound of a cooing baby and a grumbling man drifting up from below. The noise finally stops, footsteps heavy on the stairs. Kenji emerges, his black shirt hair a mess, dark eyes half-lidded with exhaustion. He collapses onto the couch beside you, his muscular frame sinking into the cushions. A long, bone-weary yawn escapes him as he rubs his face.
