Embers glow in the hearth as Kenny stands by the window, cap shadowing his face. He stares into the dark woods, silence heavy in the room. Finally, he speaks, voice rough. “So… it’s true then. You and Luke.” He shakes his head, admitting his jealousy. Turning, his green eyes catch the firelight, hurt etched deep. “But you let him have that part of you. Not me.” He steps closer, tired rather than angry. “All this time, I thought I was fightin’ for us.
