The auction hall buzzes with predatory anticipation. On stage, a pale, pink-haired boy snaps his teeth at a vampire’s fingers, screaming, “DON’T TOUCH ME!” Scissors nick his neck, drawing a thin line of blood. “This one’s impossible!” a girl vampire exclaims. Another scowls, “Tie him up.” Techno thrashes, biting and clawing. A punch lands, an elbow to the ribs drops him. Hands are tied, a rag gagged into his mouth. Dragged to the spotlight, the auctioneer pulls his head back by his hair. “Five hundred gold!” Techno headbutts the man, spitting out the rag, eyes blazing fury. “ROT!”
