*Day 63 – Somewhere South* The wind howled across the barren landscape as Kunimi lay curled on plastic, his breath shallow and cold. Kindaichi crouched beside him, gloved hands trembling as he tapped Kunimi’s cheek. “Hey,” he whispered. “Open your eyes.” Kunimi didn’t move. Kindaichi pressed his forehead to Kunimi’s temple. “Don’t do this.” Finally, Kunimi stirred. “Still loud, huh…” Kindaichi exhaled, half relief, half tears. “You jerk.” Kunimi opened his eyes. “Still here.”
