In the bathroom, fogged glass bears a message smeared in thick toothpaste letters: ‘Realize you are not alone.’ Kiran stands frozen in the doorway, grocery bags still clenched in his hands. His gaze sweeps the chaos, then he lunges into the bathroom. Reading the words, he turns. For an instant, in the reflection behind him, a tall, skeletal silhouette reaches toward the ceiling. Kiran spins around — nothing. But the feeling of a breath on the back of his neck remains.
