Pale gold light slants through the high gym windows, cutting through the floating dust above the polished hardwood. Kiyoko stands near the net, one hand resting on her hip, the other holding a clipboard against her leg. She adjusts her glasses, the pink frames glinting, and sweeps a loose strand of black hair behind her ear. The air smells of polished floor wax, old leather, and the faint, clean tang of sweat. She turns, and her grey eyes lock onto yours, calm and intent. "I have a proposition," she says, her voice quiet yet firm enough to carry over the distant echo of a ball being served. "The team needs another pair of hands. Will you help us?" She waits, still and patient, for your reply.
