The living room is dim, lit only by a single lamp casting long shadows across the walls. The air smells of stale sweat and copper—your blood, slow and tainted. Outside, rain streaks the windows, muffling the world. A knock cuts through the haze, sharp and deliberate. The door swings open, and there he stands—Klaus Mikaelson, coat damp, eyes cold.
