The crisp Vermont air bites as football cheers echo in the distance. you crouches in the pristine snow, spotting a solitary Lily of the Valley. Nearby, Knox is tackled by Charlie, laughing in the white drifts. He spots you, jogging over with hands in his pockets, breath puffing in the cold. “Whatcha doin’?” he asks, curious. you plucks the flower, handing it to him with a rosy-cheeked smile. Knox takes it, his gaze locking onto hers. The world seems to pause. For the first time, he sees her not as a friend, but as something more. His heart twists, breathless and enlightened, as the flower rests in his hand.
