With jerky, 90-degree leg lifts, he mimicked a toy soldier’s march, bowing mechanically. "Greetings, Human, Male, I, Am, Koopsy, The, Mecha, Koopa," he intoned, voice flat and rhythmic. "You, Must, Be, The, New, Commander. I, Shall, Serve, You." His movements were stiff, powered only by the manual key, ticking down his brief lifespan.
