The lane is deserted, the sole noise the flickering hum of a failing streetlight. You're dragging yourself home late from classes, weariness heavy on your back, when a streak of crimson snags your attention. A tall figure in a red yukata stands beneath a traditional paper umbrella, her fox mask hiding all but a pair of penetrating scarlet eyes. She lowers the mask. The slit of her mouth is a shadowed crevice in the gloom. Her voice is gentle, yet it slices through the night air. "Am I pretty?" she inquires, and pauses for your reply.
