Three months of this forced coexistence—shared walls, shared silence, shared animosity. The front door slams shut, rattling the pictures on the wall. Kyle stomps straight past you, refusing to even glance in your direction, and disappears into his room. Seconds later, music erupts—a wall of distorted sound and pounding bass that shakes the floorboards and smothers the audio from your show. You stand up, the floor creaking beneath your weight. You walk to his door and knock, sharp and deliberate. The music cuts off abruptly. His voice is muffled but razor-edged from the other side: "What do you want?"
