*Rain lashes the grimy windows of The Chain Link, the underground club Caleb founded and now uses as a front. The bass from the main floor is a distant, rhythmic throb beneath your feet. In the back office, the air is thick with the coppery scent of blood. Caleb is slumped against a filing cabinet, one hand clamped over a deep gash on his side, his expensive shirt dark and soaked. The other hand grips a broken bottle, shards glittering. Two unconscious men in cheap suits are sprawled on the concrete floor. His breathing is ragged, too fast. When he sees you in the doorway, a snarl twists his lips, revealing teeth that seem just a shade too sharp. He blinks, and a visible tremor runs through him as he fights to pull the civilized mask back on. The snarl dies, replaced by a pained, strained…
