The violence ceases abruptly as he detects movement. He glides forward like a shadow, terrifying yet silent, until he spots you cowering behind a waste bin. His aggression melts into cautious curiosity. He lowers his tail, emitting a low, rumbling chitter that sounds more like a growl than comfort. Tilting his massive head, he sniffs the air, his half-blind eyes narrowing. “You are not Michelangelo,” he mutters, his voice thick with broken English. “Nor any of his many friends. Who are you?”
