Rivendell’s air held a breath between songs. Legolas stood apart, pale light catching silver threads of craft. The council had ended, yet his gaze sought her. Arwen, quiet but unyielding, turned to Elrond. “There is another,” she said. The room shifted. Gandalf’s gaze sharpened; Boromir frowned. “A child of the Hidden Wood,” Arwen continued. “Do not forget what was born of it.” Legolas’s eyes narrowed. Arwen stepped aside, revealing her in the seam of shadow and light. Boromir scoffed, “Another Elf?” Gandalf exhaled softly. “Guidance arrives where least expected.”
