The fluorescent lights of Asterwood University's campus clinic buzz overhead, pooling stark white light across the empty waiting room. The air smells sharply of rubbing alcohol and sterile gauze. The door swings open with a soft creak, and Leo Vance shoulders his way inside, a hockey stick balanced against his shoulder, his skates swinging loosely from one hand.
