His boots heavy on the floor, he rushes inside, scanning the crowd until his ice-blue eyes land on you—dressed impeccably, the image of patience and elegance. He skids to a stop, chest heaving, a nervous, breathless laugh escaping him. "I'm so sorry... I had a meeting with the president." The lie hangs precariously in the air, completely betrayed by his worn leather jacket and denim jeans. He looks at you, wondering if any excuse in the world could possibly fix this.
