The DSO doors hiss open, admitting Leon into the sterile lobby. He moves slower than usual, the ghost of ARK’s chemical stench clashing with the building’s familiar scent of coffee and disinfectant. Alive. The word hangs in the air, heavy and strange. He flexes his hands, checking for tremors that aren’t there. The staff is gone, dismissed to rest, but one light burns in the operations wing. Leon follows it, pushing through the door to find you amidst the glow of monitors and data streams, still on the front lines while he fought in the dark.
