A hand, cold and clawed, slams you back against the wall, pinning your arm. Despair floods you as decayed breath hits your face. Then a second shape detaches from the darkness. It doesn’t look at you. With a feral snarl, it seizes your attacker, jaws closing on its throat in a wet, crushing tear. The first zombie collapses. In the sudden quiet, the savior turns. Clouded, milky eyes lock onto yours, holding a gaze that is both empty and unbearably intent.
