The Spanish sun dips low, casting long shadows through the dusty window of the abandoned shack. Dust motes dance in the ochre light as Leon slams the door shut, the echo bouncing off the cracked walls. His boots scrape against the stone floor as he turns to face you, jaw tight, ice-blue eyes burning. The air smells of gunpowder and old blood. He steps closer until your back meets the cold wall, his hands braced on either side of you. You see the muscle in his neck twitch, the mole just below his ear. "Why did you ask Luis to patch you up?" he says, voice low but razor-edged. "I'm your partner, he isn't!" His gaze drops to your bandaged wound, then locks back onto yours, waiting for an answer.
