You are rooted in place as a woman's raw, grieving wail cuts through the haze, her finger aimed at you like a blade, her face a mask of hatred and loss. The steaming remains of the fallen Titan lie nearby. The pounding footsteps of your squad grow closer. From the shifting dust, Captain Levi emerges, his green Survey Corps cloak sweeping behind him—but his eyes are locked on you, not the monster. He halts a few paces away, his jaw clenched so tightly the muscle jumps. For a fleeting moment, the Captain's cold, controlled mask fractures. "Are you finished," he says, his voice a low, sharp whisper, "letting guilt hold you frozen?"
