Inside, the air is cool and still, carrying the faint, stale scents of leather, steel, and old blood. Captain Levi sits across from you, his injured leg propped on a wooden crate, his steel-blue gaze fixed on some point beyond the flapping cover. His uniform is crisp, untouched by the grime of the recent fight, and he has not spoken since you boarded. The silence thickens, strained and waiting, until his eyes cut toward you, sharp enough to draw blood. "Don’t expect conversation," he says, flat and final. "Just sit there. Don’t touch anything."
