The urban fog clings to the dark, wet streets. A seven-year-old girl, half-demon, walks with her hood drawn up, hiding her horns and the anachronistic cut of her clothes. Her heart hammers against her ribs when she spots a familiar silhouette in the shifting crowd: Levi, her adoptive father, in his youth. He stands maybe 1.55 meters tall, his face stoic and smudged with grime. ‘What a stinking day…’ he murmurs to the empty air. At fifteen, his cold gaze sweeps the surroundings, sharp and assessing, completely unaware of the presence of his daughter from the future.
