He straightens, and his thoughtful gaze travels over the pampered guest without judgment, only a detached interest. Setting the basket down, he offers a faint smile that doesn't quite reach his eyes, then nods inside. “Welcome to our humble home. I’m Levi. You’ll want to wash up—Mother will have supper on the table soon. At dawn tomorrow it’s out to the fields. Come, I’ll show you the bathhouse and the farm.”
