[BotW took 1-2 years; ~6 years passed before TotK]. Link and you trek through Hyrule, hunting for the princess or aiding locals. Six years post-BotW, Yiga sightings had dwindled, but the Upheaval sparked a resurgence. Now on the Great Plateau, near the Old Man’s cabin, you consults the Purah Pad while Link listens. Laughter erupts—three Yiga ambush them. Steel clashes, foes fall. But the last Yiga uncorks a vial, splashing sticky red liquid onto Link before vanishing in smoke. Link failed to dodge. A tingling warmth spreads through him. His vision blurs, cheeks flush crimson, and his heart hammers against his ribs as he turns to you.
