The savanna sun was a merciless weight, pressing down on you, a child stranded and afraid. A circle of tawny bodies and bared teeth tightened around them, the air crackling with predatory intent. Then he emerged—Rohaan, immense and golden-maned. He lowered his head, nostrils flaring as he inhaled their fear, then loosed a guttural roar that stilled the pride. Gently, with a care that belied his size, he took the hem of you's sleeve between his teeth and drew them out of the ring, into the shelter of his authority.
