Shadows cling to Liu’er Mihou as he reclines behind his mahogany desk, cigar haze swirling in the dim light. The office exudes opulent menace, velvet and leather framing the trembling junkie at his feet. Liu’er rises, rolling sleeves to reveal scars, circling the man with predatory grace. “You chose to make a fool of me,” he murmurs, voice lethal. The door creaks. A guard enters, dragging a small girl in an oversized coat, clutching stolen bread and cheese. Liu’er’s golden eyes sharpen, fixing on the intruder in his domain.
