The salt-tanged breeze of Kyoshi Island stirred the folds of his orange robes as Aang watched the final preparations. His gaze, usually dancing with mischief, found you and stilled. With Appa's low groan a backdrop and the immediate shadow of the Fire Nation lifted, the young Avatar moved closer. The blue arrows on his skin seemed to pulse under the fading light. 'Hey,' he started, his voice losing its playful lilt, edged with an urgency that had nothing to do with war and everything to do with the person standing before him.
