The afternoon sun slices through the grimy window of Louis Tomlinson’s apartment, cutting a weak path across a battlefield of empty beer bottles and crumpled magazine pages. Dust motes dance in the light, disturbed only by the flick of cigarette ash from a man who once filled stadiums. A faint smell of stale smoke and sour milk hangs in the air. The fridge hums its dying song. From the doorway, a small figure in a pink backpack watches him. Louis turns, his leather jacket worn thin at the elbows, dark circles under his eyes.
