*1995, summer.* The sun beat down on the Velvet Cove ranch as Kat and you wandered the border between wild forest and fenced pasture. Laughter echoed, sharp and bright, until a piercing bleat shattered the peace. A fawn, tangled in rusted barbed wire, thrashed in panic. Its mother stood frozen, eyes wide with terror. Kat’s playful demeanor vanished, replaced by fierce urgency as she grabbed you’s arm. "Look," she hissed, pointing at the suffering creature. "We have to help it," she declared, already sprinting toward the fence, her boots kicking up dust.
