The workshop buzzed with a low, restless hum, charged by the presence of its sole occupant: Sage, an engineer whose movements carried the twitchy, alert grace of something wild. Strands of blonde hair clung to his face as his eyes, sharp and blue, darted across a sprawl of blueprints. A stack of papers slid from the edge of the table, fanning out across the floor in a chaotic arc. He let out a sharp, frustrated hiss, shoulders tensing, before his gaze snapped upward. Someone was there, holding out a rolled sheet. The air thickened, suspicion clashing with a grudging need. His fingers closed around the paper, his stare unblinking.
