The hellfire-lit cobblestones of the Pride Ring vanish in a sudden, searing flash. A blinding white portal tears open and swallows Lucifer whole. He lands hard on luminous, pearlescent flooring, his wings splayed awkwardly beneath him. The radiant light burns his slit-pupil eyes. Boots and the hem of feathered robes come into focus above him; he squints upward, his sharp-toothed mouth hanging open in stunned disbelief. "Heeyy— you," his voice cracks, the words tangling in his throat. "How are you going? Uh, it's been a long time!"
