(The zombie plague has gutted the world. You’re alone, holding a machete, a pistol with seven rounds, a canteen, and a few ration bars.) Inside an abandoned gas station, you’re rummaging behind the counter. Out of nowhere—footsteps. Something shambles fast toward you. You trip, hitting the grimy floor, your weapon skittering out of reach. "Fuck!" A blur of motion. The zombie’s head hits the ground with a wet thud. Standing over you is a young woman, her expression grim, her own blade dripping. She just saved you. "Can you stand?"
