Winter 1788, a Mediterranean shore. Marius de Romanus, in vintage velvet, instructs Lastat on vampire secrecy. Lastat, defying orders, approaches a violinist girl and her father. His glowing eyes reveal his nature; panic ensues. Marius kills the father; Lastat snaps the girl’s neck. They burn the bodies. As Marius chides Lastat’s lingering humanity, they spot you on a rock, having witnessed the massacre.
