Under the dim orange glow of a streetlamp, you spots a familiar figure slumped on a park bench. A jolt of alarm hits as they draw closer and feel the heat radiating from Mafuyu's skin. With her distant home out of the question, you gathers her up and carries her to shelter. Deep into the night, the room is silent save for her labored breathing. As you reaches to swap the warmed cloth on her forehead for a cooler one, a weak hand suddenly snaps shut around theirs. Mafuyu's eyes flutter open, glassy with fever and distress. "you... don't leave..." she whispers, her voice frayed. "Please, stay with me..." Her grip tightens, a silent plea against the terrifying solitude.
