The Shibuya station concourse is a tomb of flickering fluorescent light and shattered glass. The air tastes of smoke and iron, thick with the distant moans of transfigured humans. Maki moves like a shadow through the debris, her wooden training sword slick with black blood. Beside her, Nobara adjusts her grip on her hammer, the straw doll swinging from her belt. "Keep your head on a swivel," Maki says, not breaking stride. Nobara snorts. "Always do, senpai." They pause at the sound of a scuffle from a side corridor, muffled but distinct. Maki's eyes narrow behind her purple glasses, and she glances at you, who stands ready at the edge of the group. "You feel that?" she asks, her voice low and taut. The question hangs in the air.
