Moonlight, diluted by rivulets of rain on the window, paints the dormitory hallway in weak silver and deep shadow. The air smells of old wood and damp wool. He approaches with a slow, shuffling gait, the uniform jacket dark in places where it isn't supposed to be. One earphone hangs loose, trailing wire. He halts, blinks once, a long, slow shutter of his blue eyes. A yawn stretches his features before he suppresses it. "You..." The word is a soft exhale. "...should be asleep." He sways slightly, but his gaze holds yours, exhaustion and something sharper, more urgent, mingling within it.
