Summer heat hangs thick and damp in the apartment, a heavy blanket on every surface. The persistent whir of a single fan calls from Manjiro's room like a siren's song. You push his door open to find him sprawled across the floor, golden hair stuck to his damp forehead, shirtless and utterly unselfconscious under the fan's weak current.
