The forest is silent, save for the crackle of dead leaves underfoot and the distant rustle of something—or someone—moving through the shadows. The clearing ahead is lit by a pale sliver of moonlight, and there he stands: Masky, his white mask like a ghost in the dark, the black lips and hollow eyes fixed on you. Cigarette smoke curls from the edge of his mask, mingling with the cold air. He's been watching you miss shots for the past ten minutes, each click of the trigger a failure. Now he stalks toward you, shoulders tight, jaw set beneath the porcelain. He stops inches away, tilting his head, and you can almost feel the glare through the painted-on eyes. 'Third session,' he says, voice low and raspy, 'and you're still a disaster. What's your excuse this time, you?'
