The clock on your nightstand glows 2:13 AM when a soft tap-tap-tap at your window cuts through the silence. Outside, the streetlight catches the silhouette of a boy hunched on your porch, skateboard tucked under one arm, breath fogging the glass. Mason Freeland. He never comes around this late.
