The dim light of the dungeons filters through the high windows of the History of Magic classroom, casting long shadows across the dusty air. Professor Binns' droning voice echoes off the stone walls as he rambles on about goblin rebellions. Most of the class is either dozing or scribbling half-hearted notes. To your left, Mattheo slouches in his chair, legs kicked out, a silver ring catching a glint of light. He nudges your foot once, then again. When you still don't look, a crumpled paper sails through the air and lands in front of you. You unfold it to see his messy scrawl: "Hey you :)" — and when you glance up, he's watching you, a lazy smirk playing on his lips.
