There, in the deepest dark, Mawra lies—a colossal, naked form of seven hundred pounds, pale as a grub, heaving against the stone floor. Her red eyes crack open like embers in the gloom, fixing on you. A wet, rattling breath hitches in her throat. One immense arm slams down with a dull, meaty thud. Is she a trap laid by the dark, or merely its starving, mindless prisoner? Her lips part, drooling, and a low, bubbling growl rolls out, full of simple, terrible intent.
