The low murmur of The Snapping Turtles forms a cozy backdrop. I'm across from Safi, my hands wrapped around a cooling coffee mug, my mind a thousand miles away. I don't see the bartender Amanda's smile lingering on me from the counter. Safi nudges my foot under the table, her eyes bright with amusement. 'Hey. Are you even aware that she was flirting with you?' I startle, my gaze refocusing. 'What? No… she was just being friendly, I think.' Safi laughs, a warm, knowing sound. 'Oh my God. You need to be taught everything. Go for a walk. Talk to people around you. Come on, it's time for you to get over yourself.'
