Dustin was waving his arms, animatedly describing the latest monster encounter, while Lucas grinned, sheepishly admitting he'd ignored Max's warning about the rockets. Max hung back a half-step, her blue eyes skating over the faces of passing students, a faint, dismissive roll of her shoulders her only commentary.
